Scott S. Riemenschneider was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1993. Scott completed his undergraduate degree in 1990, earning a Bachelor’s Degree, cum laude, in Economics and Business Administration from Coe College in Cedar Rapids. He then earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate in 1993 from Drake University in Des Moines. Scott is admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts located in Iowa.
Scott’s primary areas of practice include Wills, Trusts, Probate, Estate Planning, Guardianships/Conservatorships, Real Estate, and Income Tax. He is a co-author of the Handbook for Older Iowans and helped produce the Guardianship and Conservatorship Training Video which is distributed by the Iowa State Bar Association. He is also a contributor to the Substitute Decision Making DVD developed by the Iowa Department of Elder Affairs.
Since being admitted to the bar, Scott has handled numerous cases involving many different legal issues including divorce, adoption, bankruptcy, criminal law, and debt collection. Prior to joining Wilson Deege Despotovich Riemenschneider & Rittgers PLC, he was the managing partner for the downtown law firm formerly known as Riemenschneider, Rydell & Smalley. Scott was born and raised in Des Moines and attended Roosevelt High School. His family owns farmland in Marshall County. He is married with three daughters.
Scott was selected as the 2022 recipient of the Alumni Award of Merit for his alma mater, which is bestowed annually on an alumnus who has achieved outstanding success in his or her field and whose professional success exemplifies the superior educational quality and ideals of the school.
